Let’s make coffee.

  1. 01

    Prepare

Heat the brewing water to 96°C. Fold and fit the filter, rinse it, and discard the rinse water. Grind 15 g of coffee medium, add it to the filter, and tare the scale.

  2. 02

    First pour and bloom

Pour 49.8 g of water to wet the grounds, then allow a 30-second bloom.

  3. 03

    Second pour

Pour another 49.8 g to reach 99.6 g on the scale. Wait 30 seconds, or until the water has drained through.

  4. 04

    Third pour

Add another 49.8 g to reach 149.4 g. Wait 30 seconds, or until the water has drained through.

  5. 05

    Fourth pour

Add another 49.8 g to reach 199.2 g. Wait another 30 seconds, or until the water has drained through.

  6. 06

    Final pour

Pour to 249 g total. Wait 30 seconds, or until the water has drained through, then serve.

Using a whole-gram scale

Aim for cumulative readings of 50 g, 100 g, 149 g, 199 g, and 249 g. These round the app’s equal 49.8 g pours while retaining its total water weight. Pouring adds to the 2 minutes 30 seconds of timed waits.
